MY THOUGHTS

DEAD OR ALIVE by Erika Hayasaki was an interesting read. It tells about near death experiences whether fact or fiction. For me it just seemed to be too short, I expected more. At one point, I found myself rereading a couple of pages because I felt lost. It just didn’t seem to flow nicely, but having said that, it wasn’t too bad.

My Thoughts

STONE RELICS is a well written story of sordid murders perpetrated by unknown monsters. Ben, a flawed but redeemable hero, enlists Lucy’s help and she’s drawn in on several levels. Their relationship, both professional and personal, is layered with challenges. Lucy provides Ben tools he needs to cope with personal issues and to profile the perpetrators as the two struggle with their increasing attraction to each other. Walter’s characters are nicely fleshed out and the story not your typical fare. I found the book a compelling read.

AN AFFAIR WITH MR. KENNEDY by Jillian Stone is a fascinating historical romance set in 1887 London. It is this author’s debut novel and what a debut.It is the first in “The Gentlemen of Scotland Yard”. ”An Affair With Mr. Kennedy” has a plot that is emotional,passionate,well thought out,with twists,romance,and love. The main characters ,Yard Man, Zeno “ZAK”Kennedy who is not only a Scotland Yard Detective, fearless,sexy and determined but is haunted by an earlier bombing. Cassandra “Cassie” St. Cloud,is a young widow,an impressionist painter,has modern ideas of a female,is free-spirited and is caught up in a conspiracy. Together, Cassie and ZAK found passion,as their desire ignites,Cassie is cast into a dangerous game of cat and mouse with a treacherous traitor,who just so happens to want Cassie as his own. A fast paced,action packed,adventure filled,nail-biting, story of love,and a daring trip to save Cassie’s life as well as the life of Queen Victoria. A must read. Ms. Stone is an author to watch out for. “An Affair With Mr. Kennedy” is not only a daring adventure but a romantic suspense with a cast of characters that will leave you in awe. It includes profiles,ponderings,menus,and recipes.What a delightful book with a wonderul collection recipes from days gone by and the stars who enjoyed them.A must read for anyone who enjoys Hollywood,stars gone by, and of course recipes. I enjoyed “The Dead Celebrity Cookbook”. This author has created a treasure to be shared with others and to keep in your kitchen. MY THOUGHTS

Detective Brit Lowell is a cop assigned to a murder case, one in which he meets Cali McKay. Cali is a vanilla, sweet-faced, innocent school-teacher, who also happens to be the prime suspect’s ex-girlfriend. Throughout the book, Cali’s recently deceased mother visits her via dreams, bestowing advice and offering information about Brit’s murder case. Cali isn’t convinced that her ex is capable of the dastardly deeds that Detective Lowell suspects, and finds her heart pulled in two different directions. One toward her possibly murderous ex boyfriend innocence, and the other, toward “little dickhead”, but good guy, Detective Lowell.

This story moved a little slow, but once the action and adventure picked up, I really did enjoy it. The story climaxes and comes to an abrupt, albeit very sweet conclusion that some readers should enjoy immensely.
